Biography
Wolfgang Nägele, born in Landsberg am Lech, studied literature and philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. His directorial work includes musical theater and drama productions, piece developments and premieres at the Bavarian State Opera, the Hamburg State Opera, the Theater for Lower Saxony, the Venice Music Biennale, the Luxembourg Philharmonic, the Landsberg am Lech City Theater and in the independent scene. His most recent appearances were Boris Godunov at the Mainz State Theater and the world premiere of Delirio by Zad Moultaka at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In Bielefeld, he directed Dead Man Walking by Jake Heggie in the 2018/19 season . He has also been working in Russia regularly since 2014.
