September 10, 2021 at20:00The Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater will present a cantata for mezzo-soprano, mixed choir and orchestra "Alexander Nevsky" in 7 parts to music by Sergei Prokofiev. In the historical scenery of the Astrakhan Kremlin, the artists will recreate the brightness and visibility of the images of each of the parts, will allow the audience to imagine the endless plains of Russia, the Pskov devastated by the Germans, the battle on Lake Peipsi, the frightening advance of the crusaders, the rapid attacks of the Russians, the death of knights in the cold waves of the lake, the strikes of the alarm bell and the music of peace and silence that has set in on the liberated land. The strong side will be not only the musical, but also the visual component of the evening: 3D mapping, visual effects and an exhibition of works from the collection of the Astrakhan Art Gallery. P. M. Dogadina. The Cantata will be performed by the combined choir of the theater and the State Choir of the Republic of Kalmykia. A. Tsebekov, as well as a symphony orchestra under the direction of artistic director and chief conductor Valery Voronin. which, of course, will give scale to the open-air project. The part of the mezzo-soprano will be performed by the winner of the Bolshaya Opera TV project, a soloist of the Hungarian Opera Theater in Budapest, a soloist of the Moscow Novaya Opera Theater.
