W którym przenosimy się z ziemi węgierskiej do Wiednia, gdzie oczekiwane są właśnie zwycięskie wojska. Wśród wyczekujących rozpoznajemy Saffi i Arsenę oraz Cziprę i Mirabellę. Jest z nimi Carnero, który przez ten czas opiekował się damami. I oto wreszcie zjawiają się wyczekiwani wojacy – a więc Żupan, zasłużony na tyłach, który był zawsze tam gdzie najbezpieczniej, dzięki czemu nic nie stracił, a sporo zarobił. A więc Ottokar, młodzieniec, jak się okazuje, nie tylko kochliwy, lecz i bitny, który otrzymuje w nagrodę odznaczenie oraz dziedziczne prawo do tytułu hrabiego. No i Sandor Barinkay, waleczny i mężny, co też zostanie wynagrodzone chwalebnym orderem i tytułem barona. Tylko, że nic Sandora nie cieszy, jeśli zaś o tytuł barona chodzi, interesuje go wyłącznie tamten – cygańskiego barona. Tytuły, ordery… Jakaż jednak większa nagroda może czekać dzielnych młodzieńców, niż spotkanie z ukochanymi. Choć Żupan nadal zamierza wydać swą córkę za Sandora, Arsena przypadnie, zgodnie z wolą miłości, Ottokarowi. Natomiast Barinkay – tylko co z nią się dzieje, gdzie jest, czemu nie wita bohatera? – doczeka się wreszcie ukochanej Saffi, która zjawia się na końcu, ażeby wszystko mógł uwieńczyć radosny finał.

"The Gypsy Baron" is one of the most popular and beloved works by Johann Strauss, in which the Gypsy element is intertwined with Viennese elegance, and great group scenes with romantic arias and duets. It is a classic operetta in beautiful costumes, colorful scenery of the Hungarian land and Vienna, enchanting with music, vocal performances and wonderful ballet scenes. It is a masterpiece of the genre with exceptional charm and captivating scenery. The action of the libretto based on the novel by the Hungarian writer Maurycy Jókai entitled "Saffi" takes place on the Hungarian-Turkish border in the mid-18th century and finishes in Vienna. It allowed to combine intriguing romance threads into one whole and, above all, to create a work
about unprecedented melodic inventiveness, melting - as Stromerger writes - "the fluidity of a Viennese waltz with a clatter of spurs in the czardaszu, a Gypsy ballad with a choir of picturesque rowers. Lyrical scenes, marching rhythms, comic duets, lively finals constantly complement the beautiful opera's scenes.

"Baron Gypsy" has been in the repertoire of the Silesian Opera continuously since 1979. And it is still expected by the audience ... As everywhere in the world. We invite you to the adventures of Kalman Żupan - pig trader, his beautiful daughter Arsena; Sandor Barinkay, who was seeking her hand - the title Gypsy Baron, and the gypsies of Saffi, Czpira and the entire Gypsy rolling stock.
