At the masquerade arranged by Prince Orlovsky, Heinrich Eisenstein, an avid "don Juan", meets a beautiful woman in a bat costume and falls in love with her. He puts a lot of effort to seduce the beauty, not suspecting that the charming stranger in a mask - his own wife Rosalind. Offended and confused, she remains unrecognized and decides to teach the wrong man…

The operetta "Bat" was written by Johann Strauss in one breath in just 42 days. The play quickly gained the favor of the capital's audience and today is one of the most popular in the repertoire of the National Operetta.
