Entouré de trois instrumentistes aussi attentifs qu’inventifs, Emiliano Gonzalez Toro déploie virtuosité et sensualité pour peindre le portrait de Francesco Rasi, premier Orphée de l’histoire de l’opéra.
À la fois ténor, poète, compositeur, virtuose raffiné et courtisan accompli, mais aussi être instable, voleur, fuyard et assassin, Francesco Rasi est le Soleil Noir. Francesco Rasi créa le rôle d’Orfeo de Monteverdi. Il chanta également Apollon et les lumières raffinées de l’humanisme. C’était le grand virtuose de son temps, travaillant avec tous les grands compositeurs de son époque, Peri et Caccini. Il était présent dans toutes les créations. On peut facilement dire qu’il a créé l’art du chant du premier baroque. Personnalité sombre, peu recommandable, tourmentée et cruelle, impliqué dans des affaires criminelles, à l’image de Carlo Gesualdo dont il fut sans doute un proche, il porte jusqu’à sa mort « le Soleil Noir de la Mélancolie ».

Surrounded by three attentive and inventive instrumentalists, Emiliano Gonzalez Toro deploys virtuosity and sensuality to paint the portrait of Francesco Rasi, the first Orpheus in the history of opera.
At the same time tenor, poet, composer, refined virtuoso and accomplished courtier, but also being unstable, thief, fugitive and assassin, Francesco Rasi is the Black Sun. Francesco Rasi created the role of Orfeo by Monteverdi. He also sang Apollo and the refined lights of humanism. He was the great virtuoso of his time, working with all the great composers of his time, Peri and Caccini. He was present in all creations. It can easily be said that he created the art of early Baroque singing. A dark, disreputable, tormented and cruel personality, involved in criminal affairs, like Carlo Gesualdo, of whom he was undoubtedly close, he carried until his death "the Black Sun of Melancholy".
