Harriet Krijgh, prize winner of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam, among others, will play Schumann's beloved Cello Concerto . Wife Clara Schumann praised the work for 'the romance, the schwung, the freshness and the humour'. The solo part is intertwined with the orchestra and virtuosity is subordinate to musical expressiveness and intimacy. Also striking is the duet for two cellos in the slow middle movement.

Roberto González-Monjas was solo violinist and concertmaster with various orchestras for many years and for several years he has been making a dazzling career as a conductor. He is chief conductor of the Swedish Dalasinfoniettan and the Swiss Musikkollegium Winterthur, among others, and is permanent guest conductor of the Belgian National Orchestra. González-Monjas makes his debut with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra with Beethoven's world-famous Symphony No. 5 and two special arrangements of Purcell's consort music.

Harriet Krijgh, prijswinnaar van onder andere de Cello Biënnale Amsterdam, speelt Schumanns geliefde Celloconcert. Echtgenote Clara Schumann prees het werk om ‘de romantiek, de schwung, de frisheid en de humor’. De solopartij is verweven met het orkest en virtuositeit is ondergeschikt aan muzikale zeggingskracht en intimiteit. Opvallend is ook het duet voor twee cello’s in het langzame middendeel.

Roberto González-Monjas was jarenlang soloviolist en concertmeester bij diverse orkesten en sinds enkele jaren maakt hij een flitsende carrière als dirigent. Hij is onder andere chef-dirigent van het Zweedse Dalasinfoniettan en het Zwitserse Musikkollegium Winterthur en is vaste gastdirigent van het Belgian National Orchestra. González-Monjas maakt zijn debuut bij het Nederlands Kamerorkest met Beethovens wereldberoemde Symfonie nr. 5 en twee bijzondere arrangementen van Purcells consortmuziek.
