Il tabarro, Suor Angelica e Gianni Schicchi: il Trittico pucciniano, proposto per la prima volta con successo il 14 dicembre 1918 al Metropolitan di New York, torna a Sassari dopo 24 anni. Il tabarro dei tre atti unici è il più cupo: racconta di una coppia in crisi che vive su un barcone a Parigi, colpita dalla morte del figlio e per questo schiava del dolore. La giovane moglie vorrebbe allacciare una relazione con uno dei lavoranti del marito, ma quest'ultimo per un equivoco viene scoperto e ucciso dall'uomo e il suo corpo nascosto sotto un pesante tabarro. Il tragico epilogo colpirà la donna con orrore.

Il tabarro, Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi: the Puccini Triptych, successfully proposed for the first time on 14 December 1918 at the Metropolitan in New York, returns to Sassari after 24 years. The cloak of the three single acts is the darkest: it tells of a couple in crisis who lives on a boat in Paris, struck by the death of their son and therefore a slave to pain. The young wife would like to enter into a relationship with one of her husband's workers, but the latter is discovered and killed by a misunderstanding by the man and his body hidden under a heavy cloak. The tragic epilogue will strike the woman with horror.
