Prague Spring comes with the second edition of the format dedicated to contemporary music. The Holešovice Center for Contemporary Art DOX will come to life over the course of two days with the hottest from the current international and domestic scene. The resident ensemble Klangforum Wien, led by conductor Peter Rundel, will perform the world premiere of six new pieces written by Czech composers commissioned by the Prague Spring, key works by Prague Offspring composer-in-residence Georg Friedrich Haas, and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the most important composers of the 20th century György Ligeti, whose innovative music, full of original imagination, continues to inspire today. The rich program will also include workshops for young musicians, public performances by leading figures in contemporary music and a film screening. The first evening concert presented by Klangfora Wien will open with LigetiChamber concerto for 13 instruments. The climactic composition represents a culminating point in the composer's creative development, as it simultaneously develops the principles of his earlier works with typical micropolyphony and work with timbres, while opening the way for the more eclectic approach of his later works. This will be followed by the world premiere of an extensive piece written by the Czech composer Jana Vöröšová. The name Lunapark testifies to what inspired the winner of the composition competition of the Czech Philharmonic and the Berg Orchestra. In the second half of the evening, two members of the Austrian ensemble will perform as soloists. Joonas Ahonen first takes on the notoriously difficult part of Ligeti's Piano Concerto, working out complex rhythms taken from African traditional music, before percussionist Lukas Schiske performs a piece for drums and ensemble, for the title of which Haas borrows a quote from Rilke's Elegies of Duin.

Pražské jaro přichází s druhým ročníkem formátu věnovaného soudobé hudbě. Holešovické Centrum současného umění DOX během dvou dní ožije tím nejžhavějším ze současné mezinárodní i domácí scény. Rezidenční soubor Klangforum Wien pod vedením dirigenta Petera Rundela provede ve světové premiéře šest nových skladeb, které čeští skladatelé a skladatelky napsali na objednávku Pražského jara, klíčová díla rezidenčního skladatele Prague Offspring Georga Friedricha Haase a připomene 100 let od narození jednoho z nejvýznamnějších tvůrců 20. století Györgyho Ligetiho, jehož inovativní hudba, plná originální imaginace, nepřestává inspirovat dodnes. Bohatý program dále přinese workshopy pro mladé hudebníky, veřejná vystoupení předních osobností soudobé hudby i filmovou projekci. První večerní koncert v podání Klangfora Wien otevře Ligetiho Komorní koncert pro 13 nástrojů. Vrcholná kompozice představuje kulminační bod ve skladatelově tvůrčím vývoji, když současně rozvíjí principy jeho předchozích děl s typickou mikropolyfonií a práci s témbry, současně otevírá cestu eklektičtějšímu přístupu jeho pozdějších děl. Následovat bude světová premiéra rozsáhlé skladby, kterou napsala česká skladatelka Jana Vöröšová. O tom, co bylo vítězce skladatelské soutěže České filharmonie i soutěže Orchestru Berg inspirací, svědčí název Lunapark. Ve druhé polovině večera se dva členové rakouského souboru představí jako sólisté. Joonas Ahonen se nejprve ujme notoricky obtížného partu Ligetiho Klavírního koncertu, zpracovávajícího komplexní rytmy převzaté z africké tradiční hudby, aby pak perkusionista Lukas Schiske provedl skladbu pro bicí a ansámbl, pro jejíž název si Haas půjčil citát z Rilkeho Elegií z Duina.
