Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece, presented in 1862, is one of the most beautiful examples of operas dealing with great tragedies, which offers every director an excellent opportunity to see the fate of heroes wandering in the mazes of human existence in the context of history, in the light of the struggle of higher powers. Attila Vidnyánszky, continuing his series of opera productions, shows with his new performance the search of a person living in the troubled state of a broken order with the tools of poetic stylization. When developing the stage space and the acting style, together with his co-creator, set and costume designer Aleksandr Belozub, he builds on the interplay of real situations and symbolic representation. The stage image evokes a clockwork that once functioned precisely, which is human history, it provides the background of a tragic love as a construction broken as a result of the wars. This variable, yet uniformly symbolic space provides the locations for the action of the opera, sometimes transformed into a ruined church, sometimes into a pub, and sometimes into a battlefield. In Attila Vidnyánszky's shockingly powerful direction, The Power of Fate turns into a poetic vision in which all viewers can feel the painfully beautiful conflict between the search for happiness and the determination of human existence.

Giuseppe Verdi 1862-ben bemutatott remekműve a nagy sorstragédiákat feldolgozó operák egyik legszebb példája, amely minden rendező számára kitűnő lehetőséget kínál arra, hogy az emberi lét útvesztőiben bolyongó hősök sorsát a történelem kontextusában, magasabb erők küzdelmének tükrében láttassa. Vidnyánszky Attila, folytatva eddigi operarendezéseinek sorát, új előadásával is a darabokra tört rend zaklatott állapotában élő ember útkeresését mutatja meg a költői stilizáció eszközeivel. A színpadi tér és a színészi játék stílusának kidolgozásánál – alkotótársával, Alekszandr Belozub díszlet- és jelmeztervezővel együtt – a valós helyzetek és a szimbolikus ábrázolás egymásrahatásából építkezik. A színpadkép egy valaha pontosan működő óraszerkezetet idéz, amely az emberi történelem, a háborúságok következtében széttört konstrukcióként adja meg egy tragikus szerelem hátterét. Ez a variálható, mégis egységesen szimbolikus tér adja az opera cselekményének helyszíneit, hol romos templommá, hol kocsmává, hol pedig csatatérré alakulva át. Vidnyánszky Attila megrázó erejű rendezésében A végzet hatalma olyan költői látomássá teljesedik ki, amelyben valamennyi néző átérezheti a boldogság keresésének és az emberi lét determináltságának fájdalmasan szép konfliktusát.
