John Williams is an American composer, conductor and musician. He has written some of the most popular and well-known film music in history, and with no fewer than 53 Oscar nominations, he is surpassed only by Walt Disney himself.

John Williams is 90 years old and can look forward to a multitude of awards for his film compositions. He has won 25 Grammy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, five Academy Awards (Oscars) and four Golden Globe Awards.

Among the many films he has written music for, we can mention Hook, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Star Wars, ET, Superman and Schindler's List. There is music from all these films on the program when the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anthony Gabriele pays tribute to John Williams this evening.

It happens in the second part of the concert, which is entirely dedicated to the works of John Williams.

The first part of the concert also offers film music, but by different composers – among them Hans Zimmer and Korngold. Here are soundtracks from Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Batman, King's Row, Spiderman and Pirates of the Caribbean.
