A tribute to the deepest and largest string instrument, the double bass, is provided at the matinee in March. Igor Gellrich, Volodymyr Kharchenko, Midori Eguchi and Michinori Bunya have put together a varied and exciting selection from the rich repertoire for their instrument. Whether it's a sonorous solo piece, virtuoso duets or stimulating music-making in a quartet – works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakow, Erik Satie, Maurice Ravel and Aram Khatchaturian will be performed.
