Crudele? Non mi dir bell’idol mio - Don Giovanni

Two performances of one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 's most beloved works . Don Giovanni will land for the first time on the program of the Ristori Theater with a double date, 25 and 27 January 2024, starting at 8 pm. The opera will be performed in a semi-staged form directed by Gianmaria Aliverta , conducted by Massimo Raccanelli , the special participation of the Frau Musika Orchestra and the Andrea Palladio Choir . On stage are musicians and singers of twenty different nationalities , who will perform on historically informed instruments , using the tuning fork in use at Mozart's time at 430 Hz.
The work is part of the over 30 events of the fifth edition of the "Mozart in Verona" Festival which will see the Ristori Theater participate as a partner, alongside the founding bodies of this cultural project: the Municipality of Verona, the Cariverona Foundation, the Arena di Verona Foundation and the Philharmonic Academy .

The  artistic choice for Don Giovanni at the Ristori Theater  veers towards the  semi-scenic form  to emphasize the dissemination of " living opera ", easily accessible to different types of audience. Works from the great repertoire in semi-scenic form, that is, where the orchestra will take the place of a real scenography, as if it were the real driving force behind the story. In the specific case of Don Giovanni directed by Gianmaria Aliverta, a characterization of the characters will emerge from Sara Marcucci's costumes which will lead towards a contemporaneity. They will reveal who Don Giovanni or his trusty Leporello could be today, what the socio-political entanglements of an immortal story like the one told in Da Ponte's libretto are. Director Aliverta will play everything on the acting part of the singers to explain to the public the plot of the opera, which will not be modified or distorted, but only brought closer to the present day.

Due recite per una delle opere più amate di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Don Giovanni sbarcherà per la prima volta nel cartellone del Teatro Ristori con una doppia data, il 25 e il 27 gennaio 2024, con inizio ore 20. L’opera verrà rappresentata in forma semiscenica con la regia di Gianmaria Aliverta, la direzione di Massimo Raccanelli, la speciale partecipazione dell’Orchestra Frau Musika e del Coro Andrea Palladio. In scena musicisti e cantanti di venti nazionalità diverse, che si esibiranno su strumenti storicamente informati, utilizzando il diapason in uso al tempo di Mozart a 430 Hz.
L’opera si inserisce negli oltre 30 eventi della quinta edizione del Festival “Mozart a Verona” che vedrà il Teatro Ristori partecipare come partner, al fianco degli enti fondatori di questo progetto culturale: Comune di Verona, Fondazione Cariverona, Fondazione Arena di Verona e l’Accademia Filarmonica.

La scelta artistica per Don Giovanni al Teatro Ristori vira attraverso la forma semiscenica per dare enfasi alla divulgazione della “lirica viva”, facilmente fruibile da diversi tipi di pubblico. Opere del grande repertorio in forma semiscenica, ovvero dove l’orchestra prenderà il posto di una vera scenografia, come se fosse lei il vero motore trainante della vicenda. Nel caso specifico del Don Giovanni per la regia di Gianmaria Aliverta, una caratterizzazione dei personaggi emergerà dai costumi di Sara Marcucci che porteranno verso una contemporaneità. Faranno scoprire chi potrebbe essere oggi un Don Giovanni o il suo fido Leporello, quali sono gli intrecci sociopolitici di una vicenda immortale come quella raccontata dal libretto di Da Ponte. Il regista Aliverta giocherà tutto sulla parte attoriale dei cantanti per spiegare al pubblico la trama dell’opera, che non verrà modificata o stravolta, ma solo portata più vicino ai giorni nostri.
