Mit unbändiger Spielfreude, mitreißenden Interpretationen und einem herausragenden künstlerischen Niveau begeistert das Landesjugendorchester Sachsen-Anhalt seit 1992 Publikum und Kritiker gleichermaßen.

 

Zweimal im Jahr, im Februar und im August, kommen die jungen Talente im Alter von 13-23 Jahren aus allen Teilen des Bundeslandes zusammen, um anspruchsvolle Werke der großen sinfonischen Orchesterliteratur einzustudieren und diese im Anschluss gemeinsam auf die Bühne zu bringen. Dieser wertvolle Schatz an Erfahrung gehört für viele Musikerinnen und Musiker zu den entscheidenden Anstößen, Musik als eine Berufung zu verstehen. Die Arbeitsphasen stehen unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Michael Wendeberg, der durch Tutor*innen verschiedener mitteldeutscher Berufsorchester unterstützt wird.

 

Die Geschichte des Landesjugendorchesters begann 1992. In diesem Jahr rief der Landesmusikrat Sachsen-Anhalt alle Musikschüler*innen zu einem Gründungsprojekt auf. Am 21. Februar 1993 war es dann so weit: Unter der Leitung von Heribert Beissel fand das erste öffentliche Konzert statt. Im ausverkauften Großen Saal des neuen theaters in Halle standen Beethovens Klavierkonzert C-Dur op. 15 (Solist: Christian Meinel) und Dvoraks 8. Sinfonie auf dem Programm. Heribert Beissel blieb dem Klangkörper bis 2019 als künstlerischer Leiter verbunden, 2020 übernahm Michael Wendeberg die künstlerische Leitung des Landesjugendorchesters.

 

Das Landesjugendorchester Sachsen-Anhalt spielte fünf CDs ein, deren Auflagen sämtlich vergriffen sind. 2019 erschien die letzte Produktion: Ein Live-Mitschnitt eines Konzerts vom Februar 2018 aus der Händel-Halle mit Werken von Mozart und Schubert unter der Leitung von Heribert Beissel.

The State Youth Orchestra of Saxony-Anhalt has been delighting audiences and critics alike with its irrepressible joy of playing, rousing interpretations and an outstanding artistic level.

 

Twice a year, in February and August, the young talents between the ages of 13 and 23 come together from all parts of the state to rehearse demanding works from the great symphonic orchestra literature and then to bring them to the stage together. For many musicians, this valuable wealth of experience is one of the decisive impulses to understand music as a vocation. The work phases are under the artistic direction of Michael Wendeberg, who is supported by tutors from various Central German professional orchestras.

 

The history of the State Youth Orchestra began in 1992. In that year, the State Music Council of Saxony-Anhalt called on all music students to start a start-up project. On February 21, 1993, the time had come: the first public concert took place under the direction of Heribert Beissel. Beethoven's piano concerto in C major op. 15 (soloist: Christian Meinel) and Dvorak's 8th symphony were on the program in the sold-out Great Hall of the new theater in Halle. Heribert Beissel remained associated with the orchestra as artistic director until 2019, and in 2020 Michael Wendeberg took over as artistic director of the state youth orchestra.

 

The State Youth Orchestra of Saxony-Anhalt recorded five CDs, all of which are sold out. The last production was released in 2019: a live recording of a concert from February 2018 in the Handel Hall with works by Mozart and Schubert conducted by Heribert Beissel.
