𝐎𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫, the Exclusive Grotrian-Steinweg Artist, Winner of First Prize & Special Prize for Chamber music at the 4th International Telekom Beethoven Competition, and lecturer at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, pianist 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐞 𝐘𝐚𝐧 (China), shall be making an appearance at Dubai Opera for a piano recital presented as part of the 𝐕𝐈𝐏 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, organised by 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐓 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩. The evening shall start with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111, the last of the great composer’s famed piano sonatas. This will be followed by Frédéric Chopin's 1844 Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58, often regarded as one of his most technically demanding works. 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐥, Yan shall then return to close off the concert with Franz Schubert’s Piano Sonata in B-flat major, D. 960. Marking his final major composition for solo piano, the work was composed in 1828, during the last months of Schubert's life, but was only published 10 years after his death. Although initially ignored by contemporary critics, the sonata has gone on to be counted amongst Schubert's most important masterpieces, and has now firmly cemented its position within the piano repertoire, to the delight of audiences worldwide.
