Haloed by the resounding success obtained during their first appearance in Ambronay last year, Amandine Beyer and her orchestra Gli Incogniti open the Festival with a brilliant program associating three composers that everything seems to oppose. The exuberance and flashes of the Venetian Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) rub shoulders here with the calm and majesty of the Roman Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713). From the latter, Amandine Beyer has chosen to present four of the eight Concertos da chiesa (Church Concertos) from Opus 6, the pinnacle of Italian music for string orchestra.

Auréolés du retentissant succès obtenu lors de leur première apparition à Ambronay l’an dernier, Amandine Beyer et son orchestre Gli Incogniti ouvrent le Festival avec un brillant programme associant trois compositeurs que tout semble opposer. L’exubérance et les fulgurances du vénitien Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) se frottent ici au calme et à la majesté du romain Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713). De ce dernier, Amandine Beyer a choisi de présenter quatre des huit Concertos da chiesa (Concertos d’église) de l’opus 6, sommet de la musique italienne pour orchestre à cordes.
