Jubilejní 15. ročník Svatováclavského hudebního festivalu bude zahájen pod taktovkou Jakuba Hrůši legendou Amarus, napsanou na slova básně Jaroslava Vrchlického. Její text připomíná trpký osud skladatele a jeho bolestnou touhu po projasněném životě. Na kantátu navazuje v letošním 100. výročí vzniku ČSR Glagolská mše, kterou Janáček spojoval s jejím 10. výročím. Tato „veselá národní mše“ je podle něj plná „víry ve věčný život, ne však na konfesijním základě, nýbrž na morálně neporušitelném, jenž si bere Boha za svědka“.

The jubilee 15th year of the St. Wenceslaus Music Festival will open under the baton of Jakub Hrůš with the legend Amarus , written to the words of a poem by Jaroslav Vrchlický. Her text reminds of the bitter fate of the composer and his painful desire for an enlightened life. In this year's 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia, the cantata is followed by the Glagolitic Mass , which Janáček associated with its 10th anniversary. According to him, this "cheerful national mass" is full of " faith in eternal life, not on a confessional basis, but on a morally inviolable one that takes God as a witness ."
