Biography
Born in Yerevan, Armenia. Hrachuhi Bassenz has sung many of the important roles in the operatic repertoire – from Queen of the Night to Desdemona. Currently an ensemble member at the State Theater of Nuremberg, Ms. Bassenz enjoys an international career as well, having performed in concerts and operas in North Korea, Moscow, Cypress, Lebanon, Turkey, Austria and the United States. Awards include the Gelsenkirchener Theaterpreis, Hildegard Pabelick-Jentsch Preis for Armenian church music and the Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna. Highlights of the season 2011/12 include the leading roles in three grand Verdi operas: Violeta "La Traviata", Gulnara "Il Corsaro", and Leonora "Il Trovatore".Competitions 1996 Prize Winner at the 5th Voice Competition of the Armenian Republic 2000 Priz
