We are looking at a “poetic approach to the evocative universe of the Greek myths, of the interpretation of dreams and of the complex nature of love”, in the words of the show’s director, Pablo Viar. And with this female cast, various episodes from the cycle of the famous Atreidae are recreated, from an immortal myth which forms part of the age-old story of the Mediterranean.
But this production does not just seekto show a mythical story, but also to establish a novel performance style to reveal emotions and sentiments through the beauty of the music of a composer of the likes of Nebra. His markedly Spanish spirit provides a multitude of dramatic opportunities which can be grouped together and enriched in order to reach out to the members of the audience, so that they can enjoy this baroque beauty. The performance proposed aims for a modern twist, clarity, and finesse in the finishing touches of each character in order to define the fundamental principles of the work.

Nota: El Teatro de la Zarzuela y el Museo Thyssen-Bornemizsa organizarán conjuntamente la exposición AMAT/ESCENA en torno a la obra escenográfica de Frederic Amat. La exposición estará abierta al público durante el mes de noviembre en la sede de Madrid del Museo Thyssen-Bornemizsa.
