L'Odyssée Matton

Telemachus, son of Ulysses, is joined by other children led by Mentor, leader of the band, and Athena, young goddess. They all console Telemachus by singing the legendary exploits: the Trojan horse, the Cyclops cave, the magician Circe… The delicate and dreamy score by Jules Matton (winner of the 2019 Grand Prix lycéen des composateurs) meets the playful writing of Marion Aubert. The Debussy string quartet brings its mastery of the stage to the three lyrical singers and to a choir of twenty children associating the Maîtrise de Bretagne and the Conservatoire de Quimper. Playing with digital drawing, David Gauchard's scenography poetizes the evocation of ancient Greece.

Quatorze chanteurs, dix-neuf musiciens, un château écossais hanté, un conte fantastique, une jeune metteuse en scène et un jeune chef soufflent un vent de nouveauté sur le chef-d’oeuvre du compositeur François-Adrien Boieldieu.

Une mystérieuse présence plane dans un château : celle de la Dame blanche, ancestrale protectrice du domaine… À la fois opéra-comique fondateur du genre et grand spectacle romantique, La Dame blanche de Boieldieu et de son librettiste Scribe oscille entre fresque populaire et roman d’initiation. Inspirée de Walter Scott, cette pièce de 1825 est le succès le plus retentissant de l’Opéra-Comique. Il enthousiasma Rossini, Offenbach, Bizet et Wagner. Ses airs sont restés dans les mémoires comme de véritables tubes. Louise Vignaud transpose la fable dans un univers animalier, un monde aux proportions étranges où le merveilleux prend le pas. Devenus oiseaux, insectes… les personnages, métamorphosés par les masques et les superbes costumes, révèlent leurs failles. Aux dialogues réécrits par Pauline Noblecourt s’ajoute l’éclat de l’interprétation sur instruments d’époque par l’Orchestre Les Siècles.
