Costume and make-up artist Dainius Bendikas about the premiere of G. Verdi's opera "Nabuk".

The plot of the opera tells how Nabuc (abbreviated name of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II , ruled 605-562 BC) in 587 Ave. Cr. and again in 579 Ave. Cr. attacked Jerusalem, destroyed the Temple, drove many Jews into captivity (the Babylonian exile is described in the Holy Scriptures). 539 Ave. Cr. The Persian ruler Cyrus II the Great conquered Babylonia and allowed the Jews to return to their homeland. The chorus of slaves (that is, exiled Jews) in the opera "Fly, dream" became one of the most popular melodies in Italy, and eventually became the anthem of the condemned and oppressed. His words are a loose adaptation of the text of Psalm 137. The premiere of the opera took place in 1842. March 9 in Milan.

Before the premiere of the opera, the "Path of Reconciliation" procession took place in the memorial complex of the IX Fort Museum , as if it were a kind of epilogue of the opera, recording the historical and emotional turning points of the tragedy that took place here. Actor Ramūnas Šimukauskas accompanied the participants of the walk of focus, community, common nationality, awakening and making sense of memory, aliveness of history, empathy and compassion.

Operos siužetas pasakoja kaip Nabukas (sutrumpintas Babilonijos karaliaus Nabuchodonosaro II vardas, valdė 605–562 m. pr. Kr. ) 587 m. pr. Kr. ir vėl 579 m. pr. Kr. užpuolė Jeruzalę, sugriovė Šventyklą, daugelį žydų išvarė į nelaisvę (Šv. Rašte aprašyta Babilonijos tremtis). 539 m. pr. Kr. Persijos valdovas Kyras II Didysis nukariavo Babiloniją ir leido žydams grįžti į tėvynę. Operoje skambantis vergų (t. y. tremtinių žydų) choras „Skrisk, svajone“ Italijoje tapo viena populiariausių melodijų, o ilgainiui pasmerktųjų, priespaudą kenčiančiųjų himnu. Jo žodžiai yra laisvai perkurta 137 psalmės teksto dalis. Operos premjera įvyko 1842 m. kovo 9 d. Milane.

Prieš operos premjerą IX forto muziejaus memorialiniame komplekse vyko eisena „Susitaikymo kelias“, tarsi savotiškas operos epilogas fiksavusi čia vykusios tragedijos istorinius ir emocinius lūžius. Susitelkimo, bendruomeniškumo, bendratautiškumo, atminties žadinimo ir įprasminimo, istorijos gyvasties, empatijos ir atjautos keliu eisenos dalyvius lydėjo aktorius Ramūnas Šimukauskas.
Nuo 2022 m. spalio 1 d. opera rodoma Kauno valstybinio muzikinio teatro scenoje.
