What is the meaning of our existence? In love, in community or in being »for oneself«? How does confronting death change us?

Famous and unknown concert arias and ensembles by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are combined in »Ombra Felice« (Happy Shadow) to create a gripping opera pasticcio that Mozart could have composed himself. The young director Clara Hinterberger combines colorful arias on the subject of love with music from the 21st century. She asks about the key to our self. Is it in public space or in private? Is there still such a thing as a retreat? And what does it mean to love today?

The cooperation between the Theater Aachen and the University of Music and Dance Cologne with its locations in Aachen, Cologne and Wuppertal has existed for more than 20 years. The central pillar of this cooperation is the opera production, which is developed at the end of each season with singing students and the orchestra of the Musikhochschule am Theater Aachen.
