Kartal Karagedik and Helmut Deutsch are preparing for the Schubert recital

Baritone Kartal Karagedik, known for his operatic roles, recently met pianist Helmut Deutsch, a legendary accompanist. Together they plan a song evening dedicated to Franz Schubert, which will be performed exclusively at the Antwerp Opera.

Baritone Kartal Karagedik, known for his roles in Duc d'Albe, Don Carlos and recently Le Nozze di Figaro with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, recently met pianist Helmut Deutsch for the first time. Calling him a legend is an understatement: as a regular accompanist to Hermann Prey, Diana Damrau and Jonas Kaufmann, among others, he is an eminence grise in the field of the song repertoire. Their meeting immediately led to a concrete idea for a song evening dedicated to the mythological songs and the figure of the 'Wanderer' (the walker) of the master of song, Franz Schubert.

The premiere of this special evening of song, which they will later also bring to Istanbul, is exclusively reserved for the beloved Antwerp audience, in the Antwerp Opera.

Bariton Kartal Karagedik, bekend van zijn operarollen, ontmoette recentelijk pianist Helmut Deutsch, een legendarische begeleider. Samen plannen ze een liedavond gewijd aan Franz Schubert, die exclusief in de Opera van Antwerpen wordt uitgevoerd.

Bariton Kartal Karagedik, bekend van zijn rollen in Duc d'Albe, Don Carlos en recentelijk Le Nozze di Figaro bij Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, heeft onlangs pianist Helmut Deutsch voor het eerst ontmoet. Hem een legende noemen is een understatement: als vaste begeleider van onder andere Hermann Prey, Diana Damrau en Jonas Kaufmann is hij een eminence grise op het gebied van het liedrepertoire. Hun ontmoeting leidde onmiddellijk tot een concreet idee voor een liedavond gewijd aan de mythologische liederen en de figuur van de 'Wanderer' (de wandelaar) van dé meester van het lied, Franz Schubert.

De première van deze bijzondere liedavond, die ze later ook naar Istanbul zullen brengen, is exclusief voorbehouden aan het geliefde Antwerpse publiek, in de Opera van Antwerpen.
