There is a lot of preparation in the tenement house on Nagytemplom Street. Kató Pentecost, the young student of color, plays the title role of the operetta The Kissing Woman with great success, and the household is preparing for the engagement of Dorozsmay Pista. Baron Tarpataky, the famous patron, who is enchanted by Katóka's talent at the afternoon's performance, also invites the girl to his villa on Bajza Street. The girl politely rejects the baron's offer. Meanwhile, the groom, no matter how hard he tries, can get the wedding rings pledged the night away, so he escapes. When the groom does not show up for the engagement, Kató still goes to Bajza Street in his grief…

The Kissing Woman is a real love story that, like the best in the operetta genre, takes place in Budapest, which has been battered since World War II. In Józsefváros, around the 1920s, it is almost impossible to break out of poverty. Yet, or because of it, the desire to live, the desire for happiness, abounds in operettas, musical games, and cabaret. The performance features familiar, evergreen songs like The Night at the Top of the Omnibus, Come on, you nymph !, Mistress, give me a little outing. Music, dance, romance and lots of humor. Everything you need for a cloudless evening.
